Ireland

We drive the Wild Atlantic Way with no fixed plan and find something worth stopping for every 20 minutes. The cliffs are real. The pubs are warm. The rain is part of the deal, and we're fine with it.

★★★★★ Very welcoming country

The island that tells
you stories without asking.

Ireland is a country that meets you where you are. The landscape does something to the nervous system — the scale of the Cliffs of Moher, the quiet of Connemara, the way light moves across the Burren. These aren't just scenic drives. They're experiences that sit in the body.

We bring Legends here because Ireland rewards presence and openness. Every pub session is a conversation that starts with a stranger and ends with a plan to return. The Irish are genuinely warm to Black and Brown travelers — far more so than the history of the island might suggest — and the welcome is consistent whether you're in Dublin or a village of 200 people in County Clare.

The Wild Atlantic Way is one of the best road trips in the world. Not one of the best in Europe — one of the best in the world. We drive sections of it in both directions and find different things each time.

2,500km
The length of the Wild Atlantic Way — the world's longest defined coastal route, running the entire western edge of Ireland from Donegal to Cork.
700AD
When the Cliffs of Moher were first documented as a navigational landmark. They are 214 meters at their highest point and hit differently in person than in any photograph ever taken of them.

Six moves, west to east.

01
Wild Atlantic Way Drive
Pick a section — we recommend starting in Galway and heading south toward Doolin and the Cliffs. Drive slowly. Pull over whenever the view changes, which is every few minutes.
02
Cliffs of Moher at Sunrise
Stay in Doolin the night before. Get to the cliffs at 6:30am before the tour buses arrive. For about 45 minutes, you'll have one of the most dramatic coastal views on earth mostly to yourself.
03
Galway Pub Session
Tigh Coili on Mainguard Street, Thursday through Sunday. Traditional Irish music starts around 9:30pm. No stage, no cover, no pretense. Musicians play in the corner and everyone eventually joins.
04
Killarney National Park
Lakes, mountain passes, a 15th-century castle on an island, and red deer that walk across the road in front of your car. Take the Gap of Dunloe — horse and jaunting car or on foot.
05
Giant's Causeway (Northern Ireland)
Day trip north from Dublin or Belfast. 40,000 interlocking basalt columns on the Antrim coast. The geology is extraordinary and the coastal path adds a full hour of scenery before you arrive.
06
Dublin: Book of Kells + Grafton St
Trinity College Library for the Book of Kells (book ahead). Then Grafton Street for buskers, Brown Thomas, and every café you walk past. End the night at Kehoe's Pub on South Anne Street.

One city, one west coast town.

Seasonal, local, honest. The bread and butter alone justify the booking. A Sunday lunch here in Galway with a glass of wine is one of the great simple pleasures of the island.
Historic Pub · Dublin
The Brazen Head
Claimed as the oldest pub in Ireland, operating since 1198. Traditional stew, Guinness, and live music most nights. Come for history, stay for the session.
